Other Services
In addition to MRI's, CT Scans, Ultrasounds, Myelograms, and Discograms, we offer a variety of other diagnostic imaging services to meet your needs.
Arthrograms
An arthrogram is a series of images, often X-rays, of a joint after injection of a contrast medium. The injection is normally done under a local anesthetic. The radiologist or radiographer performs the study using fluoroscopy or ultrasound to guide the placement of the needle into the joint and then injects an appropriate amount of contrast.
X-Rays
X-rays are a form of electromagnetic radiation that can pass through the body to create images of the internal structures. They are commonly used to diagnose fractures, infections, and other conditions affecting bones and soft tissues.
Fluoroscopy
Fluoroscopy is a type of medical imaging that shows a continuous X-ray image on a monitor, much like an X-ray movie. It allows healthcare providers to see the movement of internal structures in real-time, making it useful for guiding certain diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Diagnostic Radiology
Discovered in 1895 by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen (1845-1923), Professor of Wuerzburg University, x-rays have provided physicians with their first glimpses of internal anatomical structure without surgery since the beginning of the 20th century. The term x-ray now applies to a broad spectrum of imaging techniques, all of which utilize x-rays to provide diagnostic imaging information. An x-ray image is produced when a small amount of radiation passes through the body striking an image receptor such as film, an image intensifier or a digital detector. This creates a “shadow” of the area through which the radiation has passed.
